There was some drama at the Police Headquarters in Nigeria's federal capital city, Abuja on Thursday.

Some concerned Nigerians came out to express solidarity for the detained PremiumTimes journalist, Samuel Ogundipe under the order of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

Ogundipe was taken into custody on Tuesday following a document written by the IGP to be forwarded to Acting President, Yemi Osibanjo on last week's siege to the National Assembly by security officials.

Several Civil Society groups and International bodies have called for the journalist's release.

However, he was secretly arraigned at a magistrate court in Kubwa without legal representation.
