So, the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele has been given an award in recognition of his innovations in the banking industry.

Although some of Emefiele’s policies may not be popular at home, he has been recognised as an international hero.

He was bequeathed with 2017 Forbes Best of Africa Innovative Banking Award by the President of Forbes Customs Emerging Markets, Mr. Mark Furlong on Friday.

The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which was also attended by Finance  Minister, Kemi Adeosun.
