Nigeria's first family are still in celebratory mood after securing another term in office.

President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha were seen walking into the polling unit dressed in blue and gold robes and beaming with smiles as they were welcome by supporters.

It was another triumphant homecoming for the acclaimed "King of The North" as he cast his ballot early on Saturday in the governorship and state assembly polls in Daura.

The president has few words for the press when asked about recent cases of violence recorded in some states of the federation over the last week.

"I will leave it to the law enforcement agencies especially the police because they have been meeting virtually on a 48-HOUR basis to make sure that they have identified the flashpoints.

"As you mentioned, wherever they are and make arrangements to counter it", he added.

When asked about the PDP and its presidential candidates decision to challenge his victory at the petition's tribunal, Buhari simply said;

"I expect that to happen".
