PHOTOS: EFCC Busts Yahoo Boys Again
The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) just opened its new Headquarters in Abuja and some 'Yahoo boys' appear to be the first set of persons that may be spending some time in their new cell.
Officials of the anti-graft agency are out to end the activities of persons it referred to as internet fraudsters.
Barely one week ago, the EFCC raided a club in Lagos, even though the club has denied that Yahoo Boys were arrested while balling overnight.
Again on Wednesday, the EFCC said a sting operation of its officials in Kubwa, Abuja, resulted in the arrest of six young men that it also described as 'Yahoo Yahoo Boys'.
In a statement on Twitter, the EFCC said the arrest was made possible by intelligence report it received.
The agency said it also recovered from the individuals four ECOWAS Int'l passports, 17 phones and Certificate of Award of Asian Professional Security Association in favour of Sun Yaje.
The statement came a day after President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the Headquarters of the EFCC in Abuja.
At the commissioning, the President appealed to Nigerians to support regulatory agencies like the EFCC, highlighting that fighting corruption is everyone’s concern.
The EFCC's statement on the arrest of the 'Yahoo Yahoo Boys' has drawn diverse reactions that they leave one in wonder, whether the fight was for everyone as stated by President Muhammadu Buhari.
