It is really appears Nigeria’s aviation sector is facing a trying period. It seems unable to be free of incidents these days.

It is either robbers are stealing from planes on the runway or cows are preventing aircraft from landing.

Yesterday, a disaster was averted when a Dana Aircraft skidded off into the bush.

Fortunately, all 49 passengers onboard were evacuated unhurt.

The General Manager, Corporate Affairs at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, rs Henrietta Yakubu, said the Dana aircraft flight 9J0363, was flying from Abuja to Port Harcourt.

The incident happened when the aircraft overshot the runway.

She said “the incident was suspected to have been caused by a heavy rain, which was accompanied by strong wind and storm in Port Harcourt.”
