Supporters of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki turned out in their large numbers to welcome him back home on Tuesday in Ilorin.

Saraki is making a trip to Ilorin for the first time after his victory in the Supreme court judgement which acquitted and discharge him on the recent case of his 18-count charge bordering on false asset declaration.

The supporters who converged at the Ilorin airport spent donkey hours waiting for the Senate President to express their happiness with him over his victory at the court.


The Senate President who touched down at the Ilorin international airport at 4:15 expressed appreciation to his supporters who trooped out en-mass to welcome and rejoice with him.

He stressed that he was in the state to thank its people for their support and show of love.

When asked on his Presidential ambition, the Senate president said time will tell if indeed he will vie for the country’s number one position.


The entourage who accompanied Saraki from Abuja  to Ilorin and his supporters in the state caused traffic gridlock at the airport road due to the large turnout, but with the help of security agencies the situation was promptly brought under control.

It was gathered that the Senate President would pay homage to the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Zulu  Gambari and to Alhaji Kawu Baraje who lost her mother recently.
