Football stars of the Muslim faith across the world were in celebration mode over the weekend following the end of Ramadan.

The religious holiday, which is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of Ramadan, was clearly very much enjoyed by some of football's biggest names on Sunday including Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil  and the world most expensive footballer, Manchester United's Paul Pogba.

Ozil used his Instagram page to upload an Arsenal themed photo while wishing Muslims a 'blessed Eid.'

On his part, Musa, wrote on his social media page, next to a photo of himself in a blue robe: 'Happy eid fitr celebration, may we witness many more of it in our life time and may Almighty Allah accept our fasting as part of ibadah. Happy EID-EL-FITR!!!'

Musa's Leicester team-mate Riyad Mahrez, Liverpool's Sadio Mane and Real Madrid's Karim Benzema were among the other big names to celebrate the occasion.

Yaya Toure was also not left out of the celebration as he felicitated with his fans on twitter.

Premier League top clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham sent messages on their respective social media pages on Sunday.
