While the debates continue on the recently launched jerseys for the Super Eagles, former captain and goalkeeper for the Nigeria national team, Peter Rufai has given his thoughts on the new kits.

In a chat with Bounce Sports in Lagos, Dodo Mayana as he is fondly called said he is in love with the new playing kits for the Super Eagles and he suggested that the jerseys would help boost the confidence of the players.

“I think the jerseys are beautiful, no doubt about it with some resemblance of the 1994 and I like both jerseys” Rufai began.

On whether the adoption of the 94 styles will bring luck on the team, Rufai harps on confidence rather than luck for the players as far as the new jerseys are concerned.

“I will not refer it to luck but when players wear good jerseys, it makes them feel good and it helps improve their confidence.

“It is just like when you have a new boot, or gloves that fits you properly. All being said, I believe, and I know that this new jersey will really motivate, inspire the players and fans", he concluded.

Recently, a UK-based tabloid rated the new Nigeria jerseys as the best among the several other launched ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
