The PDP also won 424 councillorship seats across the state while the All Progressives Congress (APC) won one councillorship seat in Ward 2, Aniocha North local government area.

The Chairman, Delta Independent Election Commission, (DSIEC), Mike Ogbodu who declared the results in Asaba-the Delta State Capital, said 59 PDP councilors were returned unopposed.

However, the APC in the state has kicked against the exercise, describing the conduct and subsequent results as a big sham.
