PDP Suspends Seven Ekiti Lawmakers For Alleged Anti-Party Activities
The Peoples ’Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has suspended some of its members in the State House of Assembly.
The suspended lawmakers were fingered to be perpetrating anti-party activities.
Those suspended are Posi Omodara, Segun Adewumi, Fajana Ojo Ade, Badejo Anifowose, Olayode Omotoso, Cecelia Dada and Olanrewaju Olayanju
The party noted that despite the opportunity given to the suspended members to change their ways of engagement in the party, they have resulted to open collaboration with the All Progressive Congress (APC) to punish PDP members in the Ekiti State House of Assembly by suspending others who are not on the same page with them in game of anti-party activities.
According to the PDP Publicity Secretary in the state, Jackson Adebayo, the suspended members equally on instructions of Governor Kayode Fayemi suspended all democratically elected council chairmen and councilors who coincidentally are all members of PDP.
Adebayo added that the PDP State Working Committee had also set up a panel “to further investigate the extent of the damage the affected members have done to the party.”
He said part of the committee’s mandate “is also to find out other collaborators who are members of the party and recommend appropriate sanction.”
“There is a PDP candidate here. How can he endorse APC candidate? There is no way any decision can be taken against us based on the decision of the House of Assembly,” he queried.
