PDP Postpones Lagos Governorship Primary For The 4th Time
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has again postponed its governorship primary scheduled to hold today, Wednesday, October 3 in Ikeja, the state capital.
This latest development means the party has postponed the primary election for the fourth time in a matter of weeks.
The PDP Publicity Secretary, Taofik Ganiyu had sent out notice for the primary informing delegates and journalists on Tuesday, announcing that the primary would hold at Yard 158, Oregun .
However, the party in the early hours of Wednesday sent another statement announcing that the primary election has been rescheduled.
The statement read; “Please bear with us as I again announce the postponement of the Lagos PDP guber primary till a date to be confirmed by the PDP NAT. HQ. Please accept my regrets.”
The contest for the party's ticket is between Jimi Agbaje and Deji Doherty.
This comes just after the the controversies that trailed the guber primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In the exercise, the anointed candidate of the party, Babajide Sanwo-Olu polled 970, 851 votes to defeat Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who polled 72, 901 votes.
