After over seven hours of meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed December 9 as date for the national convention.

The PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Dayo Adeyeye told journalists that the party will investigate the issues in Ekiti so as to retain the state in 2018.

He says the party received reports from Senator Abiodun Olujimi (PDP, Ekiti South), who accused governor Ayo Fayose of running the party into impunity.

The PDP NEC also resolved to grant waiver to former Oyo state governor Rashidi Ladoja, who switched from Accord Party to freely contest for any position.

A waiver was also granted to former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Seyi Makinde, and some politicians in Anambra State who joined the PDP recently.

He added that issues as regard amendment of the PDP constitution were extensively discussed.
