PDP Deputy Chairman In Niger State Joins APC
The Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) Deputy Chairman in Niger State, Aminu Yusuf has left the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yusuf said his decision to join APC was because the party has performed very well in the state and federal levels.
His defection from the PDP is coming two weeks after the Minority Whip of the State House of Assembly, Liman Iya dumped the PDP at the floor of the house.
The PDP has, however denied that Yusuf decamped.
The party on Friday said it has not received any letter from him to communicate his defection.
In a statement signed by its secretary, Abdullahi Santali, the party said Yusuf has been suspended due to various allegations against him.
The PDP stated that: “No member is above the law and every member should strive to adhere to the rules and regulations of the party with a view to improving its fortunes in the state.”
The allegations against Yusuf, according to the statement by the PDP include gross misconduct, anti-party activities and ‘engaging in conducts unbecoming of a party executive.’
