PDP Chieftain, Doyin Okupe Spends Night At EFCC Jail
The anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC’s new head office has been receiving important guests.
One of the guests it is currently hosting is chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP and former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe who spent the night at the new head office of the Commission.
Okupe had tweeted before entering the EFCC on Monday afternoon, “Now on the way to the new magnificent EFCC head office along Airport Road. I am sure facilities for inmates will be great!
“Wow! An architectural elegance! Beautiful and spacious!”
It was learnt that Okupe was made to spend the night as he had many questions to answer.
The EFCC had invited Okupe for allegedly receiving 100 million naira from embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.).
In addition, the former presidential aide is also accused of receiving dubious contracts to the tune of 76 million naira from a local council in Niger State.
However, Okupe had said he was invited by the EFCC for cybercrime, stalking and alleged hate speech.
Okupe admitted publicly that he received 100 million naira from Dasuki, based on Jonathan’s instructions.
Okupe, who served as Jonathan’s spokesman from 2012 to 2015, added that he received 10 million naira monthly from Dasuki to pay salaries and run a weekly programme on NTA.
