The party said the Minister has failed to fulfill the campaign promises of his party in the state which includes renovation of the Port Harcourt International Airport immediately after the elections.

The party's state Publicity Secretary, Samuel Nwanosike, who made the call on Wednesday, in Port Harcourt, said it is sad that two years into the administration  of the All Progressives Congress-led federal government, the Port Harcourt International Airport has remained in its sorry state.

He said that the Minister of Transportation had not been able to attract any federal presence to a state he represents.

Nwanosike adds that the only railway project that had been commissioned by the Ministry of Transportation was the one completed by former President, Goodluck Jonathan.

He claims the minister may have attempted to privatize Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, which led to a nationwide protest by workers at the Ports. He also accused Amaechi of selling valuable assets of the state while he was governor.

“Having looked at Amaechi’s activities, the PDP in Rivers has come to the conclusion that he has failed and should resign,” he said.
