Brazilian star, Paulinho can indeed walk the streets of Catalonia with his head high, having enjoyed a very impressive start to his Barcelona career.

The 29-year old was largely seen as a misfit when Barcelona signed him on from Chinese Super League side, Guangzhou Evergrande during the summer transfer window.

Though he was a flop in the Premier League; scoring just two goals for Tottenham Hotspur in 32 games, Paulinho has shamed his critics with two goals in just 70 minutes of action with Barcelona and the midfielder is understandably excited.

"I am very grateful for how I have been welcomed at Barcelona," he explained. "Playing with great players makes me happy and they have been good in helping me adapt."

After such heavy criticism, it would be understandable for the former Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder to revel in the newfound praise, yet he is simply focused on working for the team.

"I am happy with the affection everyone is showing me but the only way to respond to that is by playing well and helping my teammates in order to reach our objectives," he noted.

Like many other players, Paulinho is also delighted that he is playing alongside one of the best football players that has ever graced Planet Earth in Lionel Messi.

"It is special to play alongside the best footballer in the world," he stated.
