It's another proudly Nigeria first and we are happy for him.

Patoranking is officially the first African artist to be invited to perform at the Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica, which ended on July 22.

The ‘Daniella Whine’ singer took to his Instagram page to share his success saying that his children, would one day, learn about his legacies.

The musician started life in the slums of Ebute Metta in Lagos in a one bedroom apartment with his siblings.

He started from where he sold rat poison to motorists in traffic, then he became a bricklayer to help his family earn enough to feed.

It was when Patoranking traveled to Ghana that he found his music bone and by 2014 he won the Headies Award as the "Next Rated Star."

Today, he is  one of Africa’s renowned artistes.
