In October 2016, President Muhammadu Buhari made a statement that grabbed the attention of Nigerians all over the world. He told the world that his wife, Aisha, belonged to 'The Other Room'.

With this event, Mrs Amina Titilayo Atiku-Abubakar is now sure her husband is the more suitable of the two candidates for Nigeria’s presidency in the forthcoming election.

At least, her man does not share President Buhari’s view that women are meant for 'The Other Room'.

Speaking on Friday in Abuja at a Women Conference with the theme: Call for Action, the wife of the former Vice President, described Buhari as one living in the past.

She dismissed the statement, saying: "Atiku allows us to go anywhere we want. So, we are not just for The Other Room. Atiku is a man of the people".

She added: "Atiku has been tested and trusted. You all know that my husband has been looking to give to society what society has given him a very long time. Atiku is a man of destiny."

She tasked women to use their numbers to unseat the incumbent President.

Titi is one of the three wives of Atiku, who was Nigeria’s Vice President between was 1999 and 2007. She has been married to Atiku since 1971.

He is the founder of Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF).

She was also the initiator of the private bill that led to the establishment of National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
