A 3-year-old boy has been reported missing in the midst of the unfortunate tanker accident that happened at the Otedola bridge on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway on Thursday evening.

Eyitayo, a Play Group 3 pupil, was involved in the accident with his mother, twin sister and driver.

They were a few cars away from the tanker when the explosion occurred. Over 50 vehicles were caught up in the inferno .

The driver, who has been identified as Joseph, was said to have carried Eyitayo while the mother escaped with Eyitayo’s twin sister to a safe place.

Speaking to Bounce News, Eyitayo's grand-father said Joseph in the process of rescuing the toddler fell to the ground and lost his grip of the boy.

But by the time his mother came back to where Joseph fell, Eyitayo and the driver were no where to be found.

Hours after the tragic incident, the whereabouts of Eyitayo and Joseph are still unknown.

Rescue team officials at the scene of the incident are yet to identify the body of any young child among those burnt.

This gives hope that Eyitayo could still be out there trying to find his way home.
