Davido's political support for his uncle Senator Ademola Adeleke is not common.

Davido throughout the Osun elections has shown his undivided support for his uncle, and was even commended by both Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, and Nollywood actress Iretola Doyle for his unflinching loyalty and his passion.

On September 26, he shared a video on Twitter showing policemen shooting into the air in Ife, one of the places that the rerun election will hold on Thursday, September 27.

“Unwarranted show of force: Police parading Ile-Ife (Mayfair area) & shooting sporadically” he tweeted with the video.

In the video heavily, armed policemen were seen patrolling the streets, making people hurry away. The policemen also shot into the air, further scaring residents.

The rerun election takes place in seven polling units located in Orolu, Osogbo, Ife North and Ife South council area, after the electoral body declared the first election which held on September 22, inconclusive.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke, polled 254,698 votes while his closest marker, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, scored 254,345 votes.

Adeleke led with 353 votes, with 498 voided votes in Orolu LGA (three units, 947 votes), Ife South (two units, 1,314 votes), Ife North (one unit, 353 votes), and Osogbo (one unit, 884 votes), leading to the  electoral umpire s ordering  a re- run in the places  where 3,498 votes were voided.
