#OsunDecides2018: INEC 'UNBANS' Mobile Phone Use At Polling Units
Let me first explain the stakes and weight of expectation INEC has on its shoulders.
It's the last election before the 2019 general elections kick off from February, 2019.
It's also the last dress rehearsal the Nigerian electoral umpire will have to perfect some glaring flaws recorded in 2015.
But it seems INEC has once again declared that its officials are ready to hit the ground running on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
INEC says voters in the Osun governorship election have nothing to worry about declaring "WE ARE READY"!
This was made known in Osogbo on Friday by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Segun Agbaje.
Bounce News' Political Editor, Lekan Oladehinde reports that Agabje announced that the earlier restriction on the use of mobile phone was misquoted.
Agbaje said over 13,000 ad staff would be deployed across all local council areas while 1.6 million voters were registered for the election.
Over 10,000 voter machines will be used for the poll on Saturday while security agencies have also been deployed to strategic locations to maintain law and order.
The INEC REC added that sensitive materials were received from the Central Bank of Nigeria on Thursday and were distributed to the all 30 local council areas.
Voting and accreditation would be done simultaneously - it begins at 8am and ends by 2pm.
