While Nigerian workers resume from Christmas holiday Wednesday morning, Osun workers are not interested in any form of work.

All they want is an end to the hardship caused by the half salaries being paid to them by the state government for over two years now.

Leadership of the state labour unions had directed their members not to return to work after Christmas to prove that they would no longer take half salary from the state government.

They are making good their threat of going on indefinite strike to drive home their demands.

Workers in the state had, as early as 7am, besieged the state secretariat in Osogbo to prevent any government business from taking place.

The entrance of the secretariat which is the seat of the state government business in Abeere had been blocked by the striking workers.

This move was not only in compliance with the strike order but also to monitor and turn any erring worker back home.

Everyone awaits how the Osun government would react to this.
