Its less than 24 hours to the Osun rerun election and things are no longer at ease for the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC).

Both parties seem to be claiming that they have been endorsed by the new bride of Osun politicians, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore who came third in the first round.

But it appears Omisore wants to wait till the very last minute to pitch his tent, saying what is paramount to him is the practice of true democracy, good governance and accountability in Osun State.

He said in a statement by his media team that the “welfare of Osun people, establishment of good governance and human capital development, prompt payment of salaries” are his priorities.

These promises are entrenched in the SDP manifestos, and are what Omisore kept on impressing on all the forces in both parties who visited him and ask for his support in the governorship rerun election.

Meanwhile, the news broke late Tuesday that Omisore had sold Osun to APC and would formally declare in Osogbo on Wednesday.

This was after the visit of APC Chairman, Adams Oshiomole; Ekiti Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi; Ogun’s Amosun, Kano’s Ganduje, Oyos’s Ajimobi, and Badaru Abubakar Of Jigawa State.

He was said to have been promised several things like return ticket to Senate, 2 House Of Reps ticket for his deputy and former minister of Police Affairs, 2 commissioners in Oyetola’s cabinet and to drop all EFCC cases against him and return his International passport, which has been with EFCC for almost a year.

Add to that the claim that the sum of 480 million naira was delivered to him in cash.

Bounce News reached out to a member of the Omisore team and he debunked the claims.

“It is not true. He has not decided for any party yet. Yes, they met with him just as Saraki of PDP did, but that doesn't amount to a declaration for them,” Jide Fakorede said in a chat.

He insisted that Omisore’s interest remains in the five thematic pillars of SDP as highlighted in his manifestos for the welfare of the people to be adopted for governance by any party seeking his support, and who he will be ready to work with in the Thursday, September 27 rerun.
