Osun Governorship: Setback For APC As Aregbesola’s Aide Resigns Appointment, Plans To Join PDP
Ahead of the September 22 governorship election in Osun State, the All Progressives Congress has suffered another big loss.
A chieftain of the party in the state, Peter Babalola, has resigned from Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s government.
Babalola was the Chairman of Osun State Local Government Service Commission before his resignation.
Babalola, who was one of the aspirants that contested the APC governorship ticket in which Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola eventually emerged winner, explained in a letter addressed to Governor Rauf Aregbesola that he resigned to pursue other endeavors.
It was gathered that his resignation would allow him to defect from APC to his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Babalola was the Chief of Staff to former Governor Olagunsoye Onyilola and was instrumental to his victory when he (Oyinlola) contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He later defected to the APC and was appointed chairman of the LG Commission by Aregbesola.
He reportedly met with the PDP's governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke recently over his possible defection to the party.
