The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for a meeting with the party’s aspirants that contested for the Osun State governorship primary election which was held last Saturday.

The meeting comes barely 48 hours after the primary election was held in the state.

The winner of the primary, Senator Ademola Adeleke, polled a total of 1,569 votes to beat his closest contender, Akin Ogunbiyi who had 1,562 votes.

Ogunbiyi, rejecting the result, said the outcome of the election was a subject of concern to a majority of the party members.

According to him, the members are disappointed, disillusioned and confused by the conduct of the exercise and the results declared.

Also during the election, seven candidates pulled out of the primary election, stating that their decision was to strengthen the bond of the party.

There was a protest in Osogbo on Monday over the outcome of the election.

The angry supporters said the party might suffer a huge loss at the election if nothing was done to address the alleged electoral fraud.

To this effect, the PDP leadership has raised concerns over the issues witnessed at the election.
