The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Osun State,  Benedict  Gboyega Alabi on Wednesday escaped lynching at the Osun Baptist Convention event at Osogbo.

The running mate ran into troubled water when it was his turn to address the church leaders present at th event.

Irate youths suddenly stormed the venue chanting anti-APC songs and making to mob the APC running mate.

But for the intervention of leaders and church security, the APC chieftain was saved and proceeded to deliver his address.

The angry youths, however, stayed around the area chanting “No to half salary; No to hunger and shouting “Ole, Ole, Ole”.

When the APC running mate was about delivering his address, he made a big gaffe, forgetting his party’s name.

Instead of calling APC, he called All Peoples Party, drawing another hushed tones from the attendees at the event.
