The Principal of Ede Muslim High School, Ede, Osun State has been arrested by the police .

Khalid Abbas's arrest is in connection with the testimonial he  issued to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the September 22 poll, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Bounce News gathered that the Principal has been transferred to Nigeria Police Force-Interpol, Alagbon Close, Etiosa, Ikoyi, Lagos for interrogation.

The result showed that Adeleke sat for the examination in 1981 and wrote eight subjects.

He failed the English Language, while the remaining results are pending, meaning they had not been formally released by the examination body.

It was gathered that Abbas, who purportedly signed the testimonial had not been posted to the school in question as at the date indicated on the document."

Adeleke’s victory in the primary is currently being challenged by his opponents on the ground that he does not possess the minimum academic qualification to contest.

Two members of PDP, Rasheed Olabayo and Oluwaseun Idowu, had approached the court that Senator Adeleke did not possess Certificate as required by Section 177 (d) of the 1999 constitution.

Section 177 (d) of the 1999 constitution stipulates a minimum of secondary school certificate for a candidate to be eligible for a governorship election.

The duo of the PDP members told the court to set aside the July 21st, 2018 primary election.

When the case was heard last week, Justice David Oladimeji explained that granting the leave to restrain the PDP from presenting Adeleke as its governorship candidate over his inability to present his certificate may subject the court to mockery.

However, the plaintiffs in the case on Wednesday, hinted the court on their decision to withdraw the case and settle out of court.
