The meeting also had the governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima in attendance.

In recent weeks, parts of the state capital have been hit by the terror group, Boko Haram with at least 20 people killed and dozens injured.

Apart from Osinbajo, others at the closed-door meeting include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Abayomi Olonishakin, the Chief of Army Staff General Tukur Buratai and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar. 

In addition, the meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff to the President - Abba Kyari; the National Security Adviser, Banagana Monguno; the minister of defence, Mansur Dan-Ali. 

Details of the meeting were sketchy. None of the attendees was willing to talk to state house correspondents while leaving the Villa.
