Osinbajo Holds Closed-Door Meeting With Sanusi, Ganduje
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo held a closed-door meeting with Gov Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state, and Muhammadu Sanusi, the Emir of Kano, on Saturday.
Osinbajo visited Kano to attend the wedding of Hafizu Ibrahim, one of his aides.
The Vice-President arrived the Mallam Aminu Kano international airport around 11:30 am amid fanfare.
From there, he proceeded to Umar Ibn Kattab mosque, along Zaria Road, where the wedding took place.
Immediately after the wedding, Osinbajo, and Ganduje went to the Emir’s palace. Hundreds of supporters besieged the roads leading to the palace to cheer Osinbajo.
Shortly after arriving at the Emir’s palace, the trio went into a meeting that lasted for about 30 minutes.
The outcome of the meeting was not made known, but sources said it was about the feud between Ganduje and Rabiu Kwankwaso, his predecessor.
The top politicians from Kano have made the headlines for controversial reasons in recent times.
Kwankwaso cancelled a rally he scheduled for the same date with Ganduje after the intervention of Osinbajo.
Both men were summoned to Aso Rock last week.
Before leaving Kano, Osinbajo inspected the multi-billion naira underpass being constructed near the Bukavu Barrack, along Katsina road, in Kano metropolis.
