Oshiomhole Meets Buhari, Says Defectors Have No Electoral Value
The National Chairman Of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomole says he is not disturbed by Tuesday’s defections in the National Assembly.
15 senators had announced their defection from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP while 37 APC lawmakers in the House of Representatives abandoned the ruling party for the PDP and ADC.
Speaking to state House correspondents after he met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa, the APC National Chairman says the party won’t loose sleep over the development.
“The thing going on is that we have a lot of so-called big masquerades with very little or no electoral value.’

"Go to the campaign, check the electoral results you will find that a lot of those who claimed to have decamped on a good day, the votes they got that made them members of the senate, our President got much more votes in their constituencies. So, we are not fooled at all.
Oshiomole said it is more satisfying to see the lawmakers clearly define their political affiliation instead of pretending to be loyal to a platform.
The APC National Chairman pledged to continue to work to reconcile aggrieved members with genuine concerns.
Oshiomole declined to speak on what he discussed with President Buhari and how the President reacted to the defections.
