Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has shared her opinion following the recently announced Oscar nominations on her Instagram page.

This year, black-led movies didn't take the back seat as 'Black Panther' became the first superhero movie nominated for 'Best Picture'.

It was joined by Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman in that coveted category, while Barry Jenkins' 'If Beale Street Could Talk' also scored some nods.

Omotola said that  most of the movies she nominated made the cut but there were no African films selected and Omotola expressed her displeasure, saying:

“Wasn’t so excited no African movie made it. Someday soon, we will be doing this for Africans!”
