Former Nigeria international Osaze Odemwingie will be watching from the stands when his club, Madura United take on Gresik United on Wednesday in an Indonesian Liga 1 game on Wednesday.

Odemwingie’s forced absence is because he is under a one-match suspension.

The 35-year picked up a yellow card, his fifth booking of the season, meaning he will be suspended for a game according to the club's official website.

Odemwingie has been a super hit in Indonesia where he is the joint top scorer in the elite division with Persela Lamongan's striker Ivan Coelho, on five goals apiece.

Madura United will also be without Asep Berlian, Rizki Dwi Febrianto and Dane Milovanovic.

"It's not their fault, they got yellow carded in those games and can not play in the next game (against Gresik United). This is the risk of the game in every competition," Madura United Club President, Achsanul Qosasi was quoted on the club's official website.

"All players must remain compact and immediately prepare to face the next game."

Madura United are presently fourth in the Indonesian top flight division with 13 points from eight games and they will hope they can perform well in the absence of Odemwingie who has been a huge inspiration since his arrival.
