The test of true friendship is better measured when the going is tough but unfortunately a large chunk of former Super Eagles stars; especially those that played alongside Wilson Oruma may have been indicted.

The claim against a section of former Super Eagles stars is coming from the wife of Oruma who alleged that the ex players have failed to offer any form of assistance to one of their own.

Oruma is going through a torrid time after losing virtually all his life savings to scammers.

"I must confess it’s indeed a challenging period for the entire family, paying school fees and other sundry needs have really not been easy.

"Except for Taribo West, none of his former teammates have render helping hand. He (Taribo) has shown more commitment to help, with the little he can offer and his care. I will forever be very grateful to him.

“Even some of his former teammates who live in VGC (names withheld) are not showing any sign of assistance.

"But I can assure you everything is under control, at least you can see that he is not at home when you came around today, he is receiving proper care, and I believe he will be fine in no time,” Mrs Oruma was quoted as saying on Sahara Sport.

Reacting to the news making the rounds that Oruma is as good as mad, the wife denied such claims as she insists that the former Golden Eaglets captain is only depressed.
