Change could come from unlikeliest of places.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB was labelled a terrorist organisation and proscribed by government because they agitated for a separate country.

Many Nigerians were not pleased with the decision and have expressed same.

But a top Yoruba monarch, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, is taking his objection to IPOB’s proscription to different level.

On Friday, the Ooni changed IPOB’s name to Indigenous People of Brighter Nigeria (IPOBN).

His reason is that even though government finds fault with IPOB because of what it stood for, the youths that constitute the membership of the group should not be discarded.

These were his gestures when he visited Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

“There is something that is bothering them that is making them to cry. We should not throw them away; we should draw them closer (because) the youths of this country are the future, the energy. They are the heart-beat of this country,” Ogunwusi stated.

Of course it is left for IPOB to decide if a name-change has become imperative.
