Ondo Hospital Shut Down As Pregnant Women Protest
The music has changed but pregnant women in Ondo state are refusing to change their dance steps.
The free medical services enjoyed by pregnant women and their children below five years from the last administration of governor Olusegun Mimiko, is no more available.
The Ondo state specialist hospital in Akure used to be a facility that brings relief to pregnant woman, but it has turned the other way round.

The hospital now charges N25,000 for delivery of babies, while Ceseran Session (CS) which was free before, now cost N50,000.
This has made the angry women to barricade the entrance of the hospital in protest of an alleged hike in medical bills by the state facility.
According to some of the pregnant women who spoke with newsmen, other unjustified charges ranging from 500 naira to 4,000 naira are being collected by the hospital officials on the order of state authorities.
