Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh and ex-defender Taribo West have both indicated interests in attending the inauguration of Liberia’s president-elect George Weah.

Weah, a former FIFA World Player of the Year, defeated incumbent Vice President Joseph Boakai in the delayed presidential runoff election on December 26, 2017.

Liberia’s Chief Protocol Jarvis Witherspoon said current and former international football stars, including Nigeria’s West and Oliseh, have also confirmed their participation in the historic event.

President Muhammadu Buhari will also be attending the inauguration.

The occasion is scheduled to hold at the 35,000-capacity Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia on Monday January 22, 2018.

This will be the first transition of power from one democratically elected president to another in Liberia’s political history.
