Nigeria is on course for another new mark as far as Road Races are concerned.

Registration for the sixth edition of the Okpekpe international 10km road race is officially underway and that will be the first ever IAAF Silver Label race in Nigeria.

“We are delighted to announce that intending runners at the sixth edition of the race can also use our tracking application to register for the race,” the spokesman for the race, Dare Esan stated.

“Runners can also register through our website will not however be limited to online platforms as we intend to use the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) to help distribute the registration forms when the time comes. The online platform is mainly for those who are far from the registration points that will be announced in due course.”

Esan also revealed that those who will run in this year's race will go down in history as the first set of Nigerians to run in an IAAF Silver Label race.

The race holds on Saturday May 12,2018 in Okpekpe, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
