Okorocha Grants Imo Workers 18 days Christmas Holiday
He is not one of the most controversial governors in Nigeria for nothing.
When you think Governor Rochas Okorocha is done springing surprises, he comes up with another.
From erecting statues for his international friends, to appointing his younger sister as Commissioner of Happiness and Purpose Fulfillment.
This time around, he has decided to allow workers of the Imo state civil service stay away from work for 18 days.
They will resume on Monday, January 8, 2018.
According to a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sam Onwuemeodo, workers on essential duties were exempted from this development.
The release also said that government gives workers in the state workforce reasonable time every Christmas to enable them celebrate with their loved ones.
He said, “Government has paid salary to workers in the state up to December to enable them also enjoy the Christmas. This is to wish them a blissful yuletide.”
