Blessing Okagbare is getting faster each day as the IAAF World Championships inch closer.

Okagbare for the first time in almost two years ran a sub 11secs race in the 100m as she came third in Sunday’s IAAF Diamond League meeting coincidentally also staged in London with a time of 10.99secs.

Jamaica's Elaine Thompson (10.94) and Dutch girl, Dafne Schippers (10.97) finished first and second respectively ahead of Okagbare.

Prior to the London meet, Okagbare was yet to race under 11secs since 2015, with her fastest time since then coming at the National Championships in Sapele where she won in 11.02s.

Okagbare had last Tuesday won her second 100m of the season at the Gyulai Memorial in Hungary, and with this newest mark is now ranked at number 13 in the world this year.

Next stop for Okagbare is the National Championships in Abuja where she will be looking to retain her Nigerian title before she proceeds to the World Championships in London.
