Ogun Senator Drops Re-election Bid For Gov. Amosun
Senator Lanre Tejuosho has surrendered his ambition to return to the Senate.
The Senator representing Ogun Central reportedly told his supporters at a meeting with the Governor Ibikunle Amosun on Monday that he would not be seeking re-election.
Governor Amosun, who organized the meeting at his office in Oke Mosan, is believed be to eyeing the Senate after his legally allowed two-term ends in 2019.
Amosun was a senator before contesting for the governorship seat.
Tejuosho, however, declared that should the governor not be interested in his seat, he intends to seeks re-election.
The governor was however silent on whether he is interested or not at the meeting which was attended by National Assembly Members, Ogun state House of Assembly Members, commissioners in the state and party chieftains.
The meeting reportedly held at about 2 p.m, after the weekly Executive Meeting.
