Obinna Nsofor scored his debut goal for Cape Town City FC on Sunday, but not without coping a groin injury.

Nsofor’s goal helped Cape Town City FC beat hosts Ajax Cape Town 2-0 in the Premier Soccer League.

The former Inter Milan striker opened the scoring in the 34th minute in the Cape Town derby, but could not finish the game as he was substituted in the 46th minute due to the groin injury.

It is not clear if the 30-year-old will undergo surgery as the severity of the injury has not yet being confirmed.

Nsofor joined the South African outfit on a free transfer from German second division side SV Darmstadt.
