Contrary to the earlier assumption that Nigeria's Track and Field Queen, Blessing Okagbare is in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to compete for her state, Delta, she has stated otherwise.

Okagbare cleared the air on her appearance in Abuja as she claimed she was not around for the festival to compete but to watch the games and motivate those that would be in action for Delta State.

The queen of the tracks was seen training on Monday with news going out that she would be competing for Delta State.

With or without Blessing, the athletic event of the festival resumes today with finals in the men and women 100m while athletes will fight for medals in pole vault, shot put and triple jump for men.

Other finals scheduled for Wednesday are javelin, hammer, 10,000m and 400m hurdles all for men while there will be women’s final in 400m hurdles.

Already Team Delta has taken two gold medals in track and field through Ese Brume in the Women's Long Jump event and Princess Kara in the Discuss.
