NPFL: We Have Identified Our Problem, Enyimba Coach Declares
'A problem identified is half-solved' is a popular saying, and for the coach of Nigeria Professional Football League team, Enyimba FC, they now know their problem and will be working extra hard to address them squarely.
Enyimba gave up an early lead to fall to a 2-1 loss to Wikki Tourists in a NPFL game at the Pantami Stadium on Thursday, February 7th.
Bashir Abdulrahaman headed the People's Elephant in front in the eighth minute, only for the former champions to see the goal leveled and surpassed by Abba Umar's 28th and 48th minute double.
It is the second time that the People's Elephant have lost from a winning position this season, the first being the 3-2 loss to Kwara United in January.
Looking at how his team capitulated yet again, Enyimba technical adviser, Usman Abd'Allah, decried his side's inability to protect their lead in the game.
"The boys are putting effort to score the goals but all of a sudden we keep on giving cheap goals and we can't even cope. The gaffer told Enyimba media.
"We have identified our problem.
"We've been scoring goals. People are saying we don't score goals but we've been getting goals, both away and home. It's only one away we played and didn't score - against Rangers.
"Most of the matches we've played we've been the notching goals, not from penalties, not from set pieces; but from open play. We've been scoring but yet again we keep on conceding stupid goals."
Enyimba are presently 5th on the log in NPFL Group A with just seven points from six games.
