Kano Pillars defeated Enyimba 3-1 in an epic encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday in a Nigeria Professional Football League match day 12 encounter.

The game produced four yellow cards and one red handed to veteran Chinedu Udoji, who played against his former Enyimba club.

After 24 minutes of action, Pillars had taken the lead inside a jam-packed Sani Abacha stadium through Rabiu Balogun’s powerful freekick that found its way into the net after a deflection.

Balogun went on to complete his brace before Steven Chukwudi pulled one back for Enyimba, and Gambo Mohammed made it 3-1 for Pillars.

It was more dramatic in Ibadan in the 1-1 draw between table toppers Plateau United and host Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC).

Plateau United took the lead to the disappointment of the teeming Ibadan fans, but 3SC got a penalty after Bode Daniel was brought down inside the danger area. The spot kick was scored and the atmosphere degenerated.

Plateau coach Kennedy Boboye protested the penalty, a move that saw the game delayed for 10 minutes.

It was a four goal thriller in the oriental derby between FC IfeanyiUbah and Abia Warriors. The tie ended 2-2 apiece. In Port Harcourt, Rivers United was only able to manage a 1-0 victory against defending champions Rangers International, but that was enough to earn them all three points.

Lobi Stars defeated Gombe United 1-0, and that was the results in the ties involving ABS FC vs Kastina United, Sunshine Stars against Wikki Tourists and Akwa Utd vs El-kanemi Warriors.
