The management of the Nigeria Professional Football League side, Rivers United FC have come hard on five of their players.

The Garden City team in an official statement through the club's media office indicate that three of the players have been sanctioned over acts of gross indiscipline.

The other two, Aliassou Sanou and Maduabuchi Okereke have since been declared AWOL after absconding from the club's camp.

Speaking on the development, General Manager of the club, Okey Kpalukwu explained that the move was taken to ensure that discipline reigns supreme.

He asked the fans to remain calm as the management would continue to work assiduously towards keeping the club afloat in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
