Plateau United have reclaimed the number one position on the Nigeria Professional Football League table.

This is coming on the heels of their lone goal win over Enugu Rangers in their rescheduled match day nine fixture at the New Jos Stadium on Wednesday.

Chizoba Amaefule got the job done for the reigning League champions as he scored what proved to be the winning goal 13 minutes before the end of the game.


The Jos club who previously occupied sixth position in the table now sit at the top of the log with 18 points.

Kennedy Boboye’s men are also yet to concede a goal at home in the NPFL this season.

In another rescheduled ties also played on Wednesday, Akwa United missed the chance to secure top position after going down to a 1-0 defeat against Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.

 In Akure, Sunshine Stars boosted their survival hopes after edging out MFM FC 2-1 in the South West derby.
