The Nigeria Professional Football League top scorer last season, Godwin Obaje has finally gotten off the mark; scoring two goals as FC Ifeanyi  Ubah thrashed Remo Stars 3-0 on Wednesday.

Obaje who is reported to be the highest paid player in the Nigeria League with a weekly wage of N.5m scored a goal in the first half from the penalty spot and other goal in the second half to finally end his long wait.

Obaje netted 18 goals last season to emerge as the top scorer but having waited this long into the current campaign before registering his first set of goals, it is yet to be seen if he can overtake others on the scorers’ chart.

Stephen Odey of MFM FC with seven goals is presently leading the goal scorers’ chart.

With the latest win by FC IfeanyiUbah, they have jumped to 14th spot on the NPFL log.
