MFM FC head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has admitted that his side needs less prayer and fasting.

He has also advised his players to be more clinical in front of goal.

The coach, who likes to be called the ‘Working One’, says he’s not gutted with his team's performance despite the 2-0 loss to Enyimba on Sunday in Aba.

The People's Elephant claimed the full points courtesy of a goal each from Nelson Ogbonnaya and Abdulrahman Bashir.

MFM began the new top-flight season with a relatively new and young squad alongside captain Austine Opara, Zikiye Jonathan, Abisoye Olawale, Julius Emiloju, Chijioke Akuneto and proved their mettle.

But their attempts in front of goal could not yield any meaningful result after 90 minutes.

While addressing the press after the game, Ilechukwu said: “ I am not disappointed. I am not because we played a better side honestly speaking. Enyimba is a big team we just tried if we can and that's football.”

The gaffer admitted that plenty of work needs to be done especially in the attack.

“I think we really need serious work in converting chances which has been a problem even in our pre-season games.

“You know when you have a lot of young players in the attack, I expect such thing and that was why we tried to get one or two experienced players but we couldn't,” he concluded.

MFM FC will hope to bounce back from this defeat when they host Kwara United in Match-day 2 of the NPFL at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium on Wednesday.
