Being a referee in the Nigeria Professional Football League,  is fast becoming a dangerous job.

Barely a week into the NPFL season, two attacks have been recorded against referees.

First it was in Jos and on Sunday, the ugly trend was also replayed in Sagamu.

Speaking to journalist after the game, a visibly angry Soname said: "This is the worst officiating I've ever seen. The ref and assistants are very very incompetent".

“If not that we have adequate security, you could imagine what could have happened. Football is an emotional game, but I appeal to fans not to let our emotions rule us.
