The steady rise of Enyimba on the Nigeria Professional Football League table continued on Wednesday as the People's Elephant moved to 5th spot after securing a 1-0 win against 10-man Plateau United

The Match Day eight fixture was played at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

To secure this latest win, Enyimba were awarded a penalty in the 10th minute after Elijah Ogene was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

The resultant penalty was buried in the net by Stanley Dimgba who sent Okiemute Odah in the wrong direction.

It was Dimgba’s third goal of the season, and the second time he has scored from the spot for the Peoples Elephant this term.

Enyimba will face Kano Pillars in their next fixture on Sunday, while Plateau United will host Enugu Rangers at the New Jos Stadium on the same day.
